Contract to supply X-Ray Scattering Magnet

We are delighted to announce we have been selected to provide a custom-designed HTS-110 magnet to the prestigious Brookhaven National Laboratory.

The magnet will be used at the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II), a state-of-the-art 3 GeV electron storage ring. The high-Tc superconducting (HTS) magnet is liquid cryogen-free and features a large optical access of more than 180 degrees to the centre of its split-pair geometry.

With a field of >2 tesla, the magnet will be used as a sample environment for x-ray scattering experiments and is an excellent example of the compact, high-performance designs possible with HTS technology. HTS-110 now has many sample environment magnets in action around the world, both at synchrotron x-ray facilities and on neutron beamlines.
